“I am interested in capturing the moment of transition between formlessness and form. This interest stems from theories in Quantum mechanics which concludes that our observations might actually contribute to the creation of physical reality. I find it amazing that before something is observed and becomes 'something' that thing could be 'anything'. There are infinite possibilities in that moment. I think that this understanding is groundbreaking for Art. Especially since artists work in a realm where they are continually reaching into the 'void' and creating form from ideas. It begs me to question what this actually means for Art and its ability to change the way we see and respond to the world”.

Using the immense winter sky and surrounding rugged landscape of her home on the Bass Coast as subject matter to explore this notion, Power creates paintings and drawings that can be described as atmospheric, ethereal and hazy. After graduating with a painting degree from the Victorian College of Arts, she has developed an extensive exhibition history that includes shows locally, nationally and internationally and she has received several accolades. Her work can be found in government, corporate and private collections nationally and internationally.
